When the Rosh Yeshivah walked onto the stage, a palpable energy burst through the crowd

The annual Leil Purim tish in BMG’s Beis Aharon is always a manifestation of true simchas Purim as the roshei yeshivah and administrators grace the dais, dancing and singing with the thousands of talmidim participating from the bleachers. But for the past two years, Rosh Yeshivah Rav Yerucham Olshin greeted the crowds at a distance — from his porch. That made this year’s appearance particularly special. When the Rosh Yeshivah walked onto the stage, a palpable energy burst through the crowd — for the great simchah in the miracles of Purim, and for the joy that comes with a hope and prayer that the modern gezeirah has waned as well.
