Living Higher: “Not Just The Way The Rav Says ‘Beautiful’”

“Having the Rav move from Monsey to Manchester is a loss, but it’s their right"

For years, Monsey residents have been familiar with the house on Dover Terrace. All year long, Rav Chaim Feivish Schneebalg’s door is opened for those with halachic sh’eilos, but during the days before Succos, the lines stretch out to the street with people eager for the Rav to inspect their daled minim.

With the passing of Rav Menachem Mendel Schneebalg, the Ga’avad of Manchester, it is this son who has been appointed as successor, crowned as the new Ga’avad of Manchester.

As a veteran Monsey resident and longtime admirer of Rav Schneebalg says, “Having the Rav move from Monsey to Manchester is a loss, but it’s their right. True, Monsey will have other poskim for daled minim, but what we will miss is not just the way the Rav says ‘beautiful,’ but the way he smiles and makes you feel when he says it.”
