Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi’s recent bout with Covid didn’t stop the elderly rosh yeshivah from making a chizuk trip to the US last week. While the stated purposes of the visit were to fundraise for his yeshivah, Ateres Yisrael, in Kiryat Sefer-Modiin Illit, and to speak words of inspiration in multiple venues, Rav Boruch Mordechai himself stated, during his visit to Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway, that his trip’s purpose was far more straightforward. “My entire trip will be worthwhile,” said the nonagenarian gadol, who encouraged the boys to take on small yet concrete resolutions in honor of Adar, when Klal Yisrael accepted the Torah out of joy, “if it causes one yeshivah bochur to learn a little better.”
