The new rosh yeshivah, Rav Yitzchok Zev Soloveitchik, in the matzah bakery

There are many pictures that speak of succession, a son taking his place at the head of a chassidic tish, or saying shiur klali in yeshivah in place of a departed father. But in Brisk, the picture that spoke of a new generation of leadership after Rav Dovid Soloveitchik’s passing last month at 99 showed the new rosh yeshivah, Rav Yitzchok Zev Soloveitchik, in the matzah bakery. Rav Velvel is standing in his father’s customary place, reflecting the zeal and focus with which Rav Dovid ztz”l would stand guard at his holy post.
