Quotable Quotes

Who doesn’t love a good quote? These cute, funny, and cheerful sayings are perfect for the spirit of the day. Use multiple quotes as presented here, or choose one quote to build your mishloach manos around.

Here are two variations using this concept: flavored cookies to match the quotes or nesting boxes filled with candy.

For the Candy Option

You will need:

  • mini acetate boxes filled with candy (or kept empty!)
  • outer box
  • 1¾x2-inch labels (designed by OMGdesign)
  • wrapping paper, ribbon, and tag (optional)
  1. Apply labels to boxes and place them in the outer box.
  2. Wrap in wrapping paper and add ribbon and tag, if desired.
For the Cookies Option

You will need:

  • tapered tote box with window (available at Clearbags.com)
  • 2½-inch cookies (instructions below)
  • cellophane bags
  • quote labels (designed by OMGdesign)
  1. Prepare your cookies:

* For the chocolate quote and the silver lining quotes, I used Ostreicher’s frozen chocolate chip cookie dough, 1½ balls per cookie. I added chocolate for the chocolate cookies as they came out of the oven, and mixed in mini marshmallows before baking for the silver lining cookies.

* For the “Life is sweet,” coffee, and lemon quotes, I used Chanie Nayman’s Everything But the Kitchen Sink Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from Kosher.com, leaving the dough plain and without add-ins. For “Life is sweet,” I used pink icing with Trader Joe’s crushed freeze-dried strawberries. For the coffee quote, I added coffee beans as soon as the cookies came out of the oven. For the lemon quote, I used a lemon drizzle.

  1. Wrap the cookies in the cellophane bags and add the quote labels. Arrange the wrapped cookies in the tote bag and affix an outer label.
