Pretty for Pesach

Bringing Pesach into our homes makes us feel so joyous and accomplished. Although there isn’t much time for extras, here are a few special touches that will enhance your Yom Tov table.

Floral Napkin Rings

These napkin rings take minutes to make and will dress up any table setting. You can use real or faux flowers. I love the fact that you can change up the look by switching out the ribbons. For a more rustic occasion, wrap the napkin rings with twine.

You will need:

  • glue gun
  • 3x½-inch (7½x1-cm) clear empty plastic tube
  • Lucite napkin rings (Available on Amazon, I used square, but any shape is fine)
  • ribbon
  • fresh or faux flowers

Directions:

Using the glue gun, glue the tube to the side of the napkin holder.

Tie a bow around the area connecting the tube and napkin ring.

Fill the tube with flowers.

Avocado Bowl Platter

These avocado boats make a beautiful presentation. Fill them with your favorite chopped salad and serve on a platter.

You will need:

  • avocados
  • Israeli salad, mango salsa, or any chopped salad
  • salad greens

Directions:

Arrange salad greens on a platter.

Cut the avocado in half.

Peel the avocado, remove the pit, and fill the avocado with salad.

Afikomen Bags

It’s always fun for the children to have something special at the Seder. These mini afikomen bags can be used in many different ways. Use them as seating cards or to hold treats earned at the Seder!

A friend recently told me that they give out raffle tickets throughout the Seder, and on Chol Hamoed, they have a grand Chinese Auction. This mini afikomen bag would be the perfect size to hold the tickets.
