Salad Supreme
| August 10, 2016Sophisticated and savory! The wine in the dressing adds depth to the salad without the overpowering flavor of a balsamic vinaigrette.
INGREDIENTS
YEILDS 4–6 SERVINGS
- 1 16-oz bag checked Romaine lettuce chopped
- ½ small purple onion cut into thin half-rings
- ½ yellow pepper thinly sliced
- ½ red pepper thinly sliced
- ¼ cup roasted salted sunflower seeds
- 8–10 button mushrooms sliced
- ¾ cup alfalfa sprouts
DRESSING
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp white wine or champagne
- ¼ cup vinegar
- 3 Tbsp oil
- ½ tsp salt
PREPARATION
Combine all salad ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate container blend together dressing ingredients. Toss with salad immediately prior to serving.
