“As a Woman, Do You Have a Rav, Rebbetzin, or Mentor?”

What happened to a trusted sibling or friend?

As a woman, do you have a rav, rebbetzin, or mentor whom you can talk to for guidance?

  • I don’t see the need for an official mentor. What happened to a trusted sibling or friend?
  • I wish! I end up talking to my mother, but that doesn’t always end well. Sometimes it makes things better, sometimes worse.
  • it’s a huge issue. My husband has so many people built into his life that he can talk to to — rebbeim from yeshivah, the rav whose shiur he attends — but I have no one.
  • To all those women who talk to their friends about their marriage because they have no one else — don’t. Find a true mentor.
