Cutie Pie

This dessert was conceptualized, tested, and named by my six-year-old son, who started asking the very valid question of what cutie pie IS and why do I call him that and is it a real pie because pie is yum. After he combined his favorite dessert elements (with a little input from mom), Cutie Pie was born! (And he took all of one bite. That’s more of a statement about the kid than the dessert, though.)

SERVES 8

  • 1 3.5-oz (100-g) envelope vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup Lieber's almond milk
  • 1 graham cracker crust
  • 10 strawberries
  • 8 oz (425 g) pareve whipping cream, beaten
  • colorful sprinkles

Prepare the pudding according to package instructions, using the almond milk in place of regular milk. Pour into the graham cracker crust. Clean and slice strawberries and layer generously over the pudding. Pile high with pareve whipping cream and add sprinkles on top.

Tip: For a more elegant look, layer graham cracker crumbs, pudding, whipped cream, and strawberries in individual dessert cups instead of one large pie. (Keep the sprinkles for the kiddie portions.)
