With Chanukah party prep well underway, here are a few fun, inexpensive ideas to make your party a hit among the younger (and older) crowd.
Menorah Lite
With all the fried foods we consume over Chanukah, this refreshing salad bar will surely be welcome! A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law set up a magnificent salad bar at a sheva brachos. It was adorable to watch all the little kids take a bowl of lettuce, top it with their favorite toppings, and eat it! Making the veggies appealing is a great way to encourage healthy eating.
You will need:
- mini square dishes
- mini teardrop-shaped dishes
- assorted toppings (diced colored peppers, shredded carrots, diced cucumbers, diced red onion, sliced scallions, diced avocado, croutons, candied nuts, etc.)
- assorted salad dressings in small squeeze bottles
- containers filled with lettuce
Place all salad toppings in the mini dishes and arrange in a menorah shape, as shown.
Put dressings and lettuce containers on the side.
Dreidel Tic-Tac-Toe
A cute, sweet, easy-to-assemble party favor-cum-activity.
You will need:
- gummy driedel candy
- free tic-tac-toe printable (available for download here)
- self-sealing cellophane bag (approximately 4¾x7 inches)
Place the tic-tac-toe board and two different-colored gummies (five of each) into a bag. Seal.
