| September 6, 2022“Just four minutes?” Rav Baruch Mordechai responded. “Don’t you realize what a person can accomplish in four minutes?”
ON a recent visit to Rav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi, rosh yeshivah of Ateres Yisrael and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, a visiting family got a firsthand lesson in Chazal’s teaching that even the sichas chullin of talmidei chachamim is Torah.
The father entered the rosh yeshivah’s office with his two sons — near identical twins — in tow.
“Can the Rosh Yeshivah give us a brachah?” he asked.
It was quiet for a few moments, and then Rav Baruch Mordechai asked, “Which one is older?”
The father was taken aback. “Rosh Yeshivah,” he explained, “they’re twins, they share the same birthday — they were born just four minutes apart!”
“Just four minutes?” Rav Baruch Mordechai responded. “Don’t you realize what a person can accomplish in four minutes?”
The meeting may have may have lasted less than four minutes, but the Rosh Yeshivah taught his visitors the lesson of a lifetime.
