Crispy Chocolate Experience
| September 30, 2020Crispy Chocolate Experience
Here’s a pareve version of the popular and classic Magic shell that rivals the original. This recipe makes a large amount, but it has lasting power. Refrigerate it and soften it when you’re ready to use it by setting near indirect heat on Yom Tov, or microwaving at 20-second intervals, stirring in between. Or try it mixed into the ice cream for an incredibly delicious experience.
YIELDS 2 CUPS
- 12 oz (340 g) quality chocolate chips
- 1 cup (2 sticks) margarine
- 1 tsp water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp corn syrup
- softened vanilla ice cream (I used store bought)
Place all the ingredients except the ice cream in a medium-sized pot and set over medium-low heat. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Transfer to a glass jar or plastic container for storage.
Soften your favorite ice cream and transfer to a mixing bowl. Mix on low speed, drizzling in 1⁄4 cup of the chocolate shell. Add in any favorite toppings, such as cookie crumbs, cookie dough, chocolate or caramel cream, shredded halva, or a crunch of any type.
