Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
| July 22, 2020Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
I was never the biggest fan of tilapia, but with this delicious and flavorful topping, I find myself making it over and over again! I’ll often double or even triple the topping for shorter prep next time around.
SERVES 6–8
- 1⁄2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1⁄4 cup butter, softened
- 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1⁄4 tsp dried basil
- 1⁄4 tsp black pepper
- 1⁄8 tsp onion powder
- 1⁄8 tsp celery salt
- 2 lbs (1 kg) tilapia fillets
- salt, pepper, and garlic powder, for sprinkling
Preheat your oven’s broiler. Grease a broiling pan or line it with aluminum foil. In a small bowl, combine Parmesan, butter, mayonnaise, and lemon juice. Season with dried basil, pepper, onion powder, and celery salt. Mix well and set aside.
Sprinkle both sides of the fish fillets with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and arrange in a single layer in the prepared pan. Broil a few inches from the heat for 2–3 minutes. Flip the fillets over and broil for a couple more minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and cover the top of the fish with the Parmesan mixture. Broil for 2 more minutes or until the topping is browned and fish flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to overcook.
