The businessmen put their portfolios to the side to celebrate a more important set of folios

ast week, hundreds of frum businessmen converged on the Trump Doral resort in Miami, Florida for a commercial real estate conference. Property owners and investors met and networked with bankers, brokers, and managers; contacts were made, tips shared, and ideas hatched; and by the end of the conference some deals were closed.

After the conference ended Wednesday morning, preparations went into high gear for the next event scheduled to be held on the luxurious grounds: ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications’ celebratory siyum on the publication of Talmud Yerushalmi, which would be attended by donors and sponsors of the various volumes.

Many of the business conference’s participants stayed for the siyum, and one participant made the following observation: We may invest time, money, and energy in various business pursuits, but it’s all with the recognition that this is a means to an end, rather than the end itself.

And in celebration of the real end goal, the businessmen put their portfolios to the side to celebrate a more important set of folios, and guests filed in to celebrate the publication of Talmud Yerushalmi.
