Singing and (W)Rapping

He ran to get his pair of tefillin and showed the longhaired technician how to don them

At an action-packed concert in Camp HASC last week headlined by Joey Newcomb, the staff, campers and invited guests were all smiles. And while the action was primarily on stage, there was something special happening backstage, too. When Joey heard one of the engineers for the production company mention to someone that he was Jewish, he ran to get his pair of tefillin and showed the longhaired technician how to don them and recite the brachos. As Joey’s popular song goes, “No, you don’t have to be Chabad to help people put on tefillin.”
