Walk a Mile in My Shoes

Dialogue in the Dark Join me as Saadya our blind guide takes us on a tour of six different exhibits. Check that your small change is safe in your pocket — you’ll need that money later on. Hold on to your special cane — you’ll be using it a lot over the next hour to tap the dark space in front of you. As soon as our group of five turns the corner and enters the exhibit I feel afraid. In fact I don’t think I want to go on the tour at all. Then Saadya our guide greets us and puts us all against a wall. When I feel something solid I calm down and remind myself that I really do want to tell Jr. readers what it’s like to be blind for an hour.To read the rest of this story please buy this issue of Mishpacha or sign up for a weekly subscription
