The Write Stuff

Uh-oh. A nasty threatening handwritten unsigned letter appeared on top of the communal row of mailboxes in a building. All the tenants were horrified… and scared. One of the neighbors took the note to a graphologist who said “The person who wrote this is lonely and keeps to himself. He wouldn’t hurt a fly he’s really quite gentle.” Then he went on to say which country the writer was likely from and even his age. All this just from looking at his handwriting! The neighbors figured out who had written the letter and threw it out when they realized it wasn’t a true threat. They also started being nicer to the quiet person who’d just been looking for attention...

Another case solved thanks to graphology.

By now you’re surely wondering: what on earth is graphology?! Good question. Graphology is the process of analyzing handwriting — not by what you wrote but how you wrote it. A graphologist can tell you about your personality and significant life experiences he can tell you about your relationship with your parents and even details about your life you may not have told anyone!

By the Book

Ever wondered why the 20 kids in your class all taught handwriting at the same time by the same teacher have different handwriting? There are billions of people in the world and every single person’s handwriting is unique like his own fingerprint. Why is that? Simple: our unique personality likes and dislikes are expressed in our handwriting. We put different amounts of pressure on our pens hold our pens differently feel more comfortable with more or less blank paper feel differently about mistakes — everyone is very different.

Your handwriting can show:

• your personality

• your behavior

• how you feel and think

• why you act a certain way

• mood

• intelligence

• emotional stability

Graphologists can sometimes even detect physical health conditions in handwriting. Ronald Reagan’s signature changed over time; even the untrained eye can see the difference from before he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and after. Sometimes if pen pressure fluctuates within a handwriting sample it can indicate high blood pressure. And a sudden change to small cramped tremor-filled handwriting can indicate the beginnings of Parkinson’s disease.
