This picture of Rav Aharon Chodosh, whose shloshim falls out this week, was taken at a hesped for Rav Moshe Mordechai Chodosh, rosh yeshivah of Ohr Elchonon and a brother of the mashgiach. In honor of the shloshim, I want to share a classic photo underscoring the mashgiach’s humility.
When Rav Aharon entered, Rav Berel Povarsky was in the middle of speaking and Rav Aharon refused to walk to the front, knowing it would cause a stir and interrupt the hesped. Instead, he took his place in the crowded rear of the beis medrash, standing and listening and essentially delivering a shmuess of his own.
