A happy return to the beis medrash

Across the world, cities and states look for the image that captures the “end of COVID,” the sense that the awful pandemic has lifted. In the Torah world, the picture that speaks of a new chapter is this one.

The Slabodka rosh yeshivah, Rav Dov Landau, was extremely vigilant with the restrictions, saying shiur only in his home, from behind a Plexiglas shield. This week, the Rosh Yeshivah finally returned to his beloved beis medrash to say shiur, walking, as in days past, surrounded by a group of devoted talmidim.

May it portend many more happy pictures to come.
