The baobab tree is found in much of Africa and Australia. It is a very strange looking tree. With its bare branches waving in the sky like a mass of roots it looks like it got all mixed up and is growing upside down. Yet despite its strange appearance the baobab is probably the most useful tree that Hashem created.

First of all it is absolutely enormous. It reaches a height of twenty meters which is seven floors high! The circumference (line that goes around a circle) of its trunk is easily eighty-two feet (twenty five meters.) That means it takes more than ten adults with outstretched arms to encircle the tree’s trunk! When my brother and I chased each other round the baobabs that dotted our holiday resort at the coast we would lose sight of each other!
