It’s been about a year since we left Mindy and Mendy in our last Storytelling Game. Back then that young couple went on a shidduch date discovered a shared Munkacs ancestry found a mutual love for their grandparents’ Yiddish expressions got married survived the cooking perils of their shanah rishonah and made a vort for the oldest of their five children. (Yes you guessed it: Time has no meaning in storytelling games!) More storytelling rules (we make them up as we go along): Yiddish transliterations are according to Munkacs pronunciation; expressions can be repeated from story to story; we take no responsibility for messed-up translations or pitiful Yiddish grammar; and no there will not be a test at the end. So we pick up our story as Mindy and Mendy marry off their youngest child Shmiel. At this life-changing moment our heroes look for help to deal with various ensuing issues. But will the professionals they turn to give them sound advice and guidance? Or will they simply drei them a kup?
