Scene Two

Reb Yanky Werner felt weariness in every bone as he leaned back on his knapsack his oldest son Chezky at his side reveling in seeing Tatty with “his” bochurim. Yanky knew he had only fifteen minutes to doze while the guys ate. Reb Avigdor Wassertzug one of the other rebbeim leaned over to indicate a group of bochurim nearby. Yanky followed his gaze and they shared a smile. It seemed like even the quietest most insecure of the boys were having a good time. Duvi Ratner came bounding over with plates of supper for the rebbeim and Yanky thanked him warmly though he ate little. Then it was time and he signaled to Chezky to bring his old guitar from under the bus.
