"When the Rosh Yeshivah shared the situation with me, he spoke about the need to pay the staff, to pay the avreichim — and then he added something. He said that it was also important to make sure that the vendors, those who supplied the yeshivah with goods and supplies, had what they needed to survive, since they also had no business and no way to meet their expenses. The Mirrer Rosh Yeshivah is not just about Torah, but about the chesed that comes with Torah.”

—Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim dinner chairman Mr. Ralph HerzkA, as he introduced Rosh Yeshivah Rav Leizer Yudel Finkel and reflected on the challenges of the last 16 months. He spoke of the particularly difficult months at the start of the pandemic, when the yeshivah was closed and there were no funds coming in.
