"I very much felt a mission to write some songs that would keep the Holocaust alive"

“I feel an obligation. I feel that the Holocaust is fading into memory, fading into the past. I very much felt a mission to write some songs that would keep it alive.”

—Abie Rotenberg, in an interview with Rabbi Yisroel Besser on Mishpacha’s “Take 2” Podcast. Abie had mentioned how, on his upcoming Journeys 5, there would be several songs about the Holocaust, whether or not the message will still resonate with the younger generation. Abie insists that the focus needs to be on eternal importance, rather than popularity.
