Any frum person should have only one identification, and never let petty party labels categorize him

"You were born Jewish, not a Republican”

—New Jersey assembly deputy speaker and Passaic City Council president

GARY S. SCHAER’s response to a voter who told him he was having a hard time voting for a Democrat that Assemblyman Schaer had endorsed, on account of the politician’s party. When the assemblyman asked him why, the voter replied that he identifies as a “fiscal conservative,” to which Mr. Schaer — the only Orthodox Jewish lawmaker in the Garden State to hold statewide office — responded that any frum person should have only one identification, and never let petty party labels categorize him.
