“MODEH ANI AL KOL HACHESED”

"This song just bursts forth from me each time I feel immense gratitude to Hashem"

The song that touched me the most was “MODEH ANI AL KOL HACHESED” (Tenth Anniversary Celebration). This song just bursts forth from me each time I feel immense gratitude to Hashem. I used to have every single record or tape. It would be great to have them reproduced.

He was a chazzan, and music was very important to him. One song that was especially close to his heart was Yigal Calek’s “MODEH ANI” (Tenth Anniversary Celebration). Despite all the horrors he had endured, he felt that he had much to be thankful for. For his children and grandchildren, this song encapsulates my father’s spirit of gratitude to Hashem. While he was not zocheh to see any of his grandchildren under the chuppah, it has been sung at their weddings in his honor.
