Mishpacha Junior Speaks to Morah and Mendy Music

mendyMJ: Hi Morah Music! How did you get involved in the music industry?

Morah M: I’ve always loved music. My main inspiration was my aunt Morah Blanka who composed many popular children’s songs that appeared on her classic music tape “The Mitzvah Tree.” At some point I realized there was a need for kosher music and movement. When children exercise they’re often exercising to non-Jewish music and I wanted to change that. I decided to combine the need for working out and letting out energy with authentic Jewish tunes.

My first CD came out in 2005 and it was very successful baruch Hashem. I’ve put out many more since then. But I realized that we had a problem because boys couldn’t listen to my CDs — when the boys came home from school their sisters had to turn the music off. So last year I turned to my youngest son Mendy and said “I have a job for you.” Mendy rose to the occasion superbly.
