Hello!

MJ: Hi Devora Leah! It’s great to talk to you. Can you tell us how long you’ve been living in Chile?

I was born here. My parents came to live in Chile on shlichus for the Lubavitcher Rebbe thirty years ago. Apart from the Jewish community here lots of Jews come to Chile including Israeli backpackers businessmen and people coming for medical treatment. We provide them with a Jewish “home away from home.”

MJ: How many are you in your family?

I’m the twelfth child in a family of thirteen kein ayin hara.

MJ: Which school do you attend in Chile?

There are two Jewish schools here but my parents prefer that we study at home until we are old enough to go away to study. I was homeschooled until now but this year I joined the seventh-grade class at Bais Rivkah in Crown Heights New York. My older sister is also in Bais Rivkah she’s fourteen and in ninth grade. We both live at my grandmother’s house.
