Gone Fishing
| February 17, 2015
Not everyone uses a fishing rod. Some people catch fish with just their hands by tickling or noodling. InEngland fishermen catch trout by approaching the fish carefully tickling the trout’s belly to shock it and then simply scooping it up. In the southern US fishermen called noodlers catch catfish by swimming underwater for up to 20 feet and putting their hands into the catfish’s hole. When the catfish latches onto the fisherman’s hand as it tries to escape the fisherman grabs it. But beware: Alligators snakes and beavers sometimes live in abandoned catfish holes. Besides catfish don’t have scales and therefore aren’t kosher. If you don’t want to get your hands wet use your feet!To read the rest of this story please buy this issue of Mishpacha or sign up for a weekly subscription
