AS we approach the third anniversary of For The Record, we continue to receive endless amounts of correspondence from readers via email, text etc. The messages consist of the occasional correction, some interesting tidbits or even previously unpublished interviews or memoirs. But to be honest, most of the correspondence comes from those hoping that we will profile their illustrious ancestor(s) whose "absolutely incredible" story will fascinate, mystify and inspire our vast audience.

Recently, we asked some of our regular petitioners to participate in an online forum where they shared the “unique” story of their forebear. The following is a sampling of just some of what occurred:
