So this whole thing of Zahava trying to be really nice to him just because she’d joined the family a grand total of eight weeks ago really got to me. It also got to me that sheplayed a part in Mommy being overwhelmed. I reached next to me and began gathering up the soup bowls. Mommy gave me a thank-you smile but I felt like it was the least I could do. She was thinking of spending Yom Tov in the hospital with her father my zeidy who’s really sick but because of Zahava_— the new daughter-in-law_— she decided to stay home and walk over on Yom Tov instead. It’s over an hour’s walk but Tatty said he would go along while the new couple Tzvi and Zahava would go to her parents for the seudah. They actually invited me along which was sweet but I said that I had to stay home to feed Pinny.
