Why throw out your old cutlery set when you can give it a boost with some beads and a little creativity?
Pearl Cutlery
Equipment
cutlery
beads pearls
24-gauge craft wire
needle-nose pliers
wire cutters
Instructions
- Wash your cutlery thoroughly in warm soapy water. This eliminates tarnish and any grime that may stain your beads. Then dry well to avoid spotting.
- Cut about 12 inches of 24-gauge beading wire for each piece of cutlery.
- Start at either end of the spoon. Grip one end of your wire with your needle-nose pliers and twist the wire around the handle three times enough that it stays firm. You shouldn’t need any adhesive to secure the wire.
- String a pearl onto the wire continue wrapping the wire twice around the handle add another pearl and continue this way until you’ve almost reached the end of the handle.
- When done fold the last bit of wire at the back of the handle and press firmly against the spoon.
- Cut off excess wire.
