Curious Jr.

Jr.: Since the days when you were young the world has gone through a lot of changes… yet old-fashioned ball games are still a favorite for campers around the world. Why do you think that is? Mrs. Irene Eisdorfer: Since camp offers a setting that lends itself to getting outside and enjoying the fresh air what better way to do that than with a good ball game? Also everyone thrives on a challenge — and sports certainly qualifies! Mrs. Nechama Lurie: Ball games will never go out of style! I think that because of their physical nature they will always be enjoyable no matter how much is out there.   Jr.: Which sport do you find that campers enjoy the most and why? I.E.: Without a question Machanayim takes the cake but I tell the girls that life is about growing up and trying new things. So I teach them basketball volleyball soccer… games involving skills. Even in Israel when I meet former campers they tell their kids “This is who taught me how to play sports!” N.L.: Machanayim is the favorite! It involves so many girls and everybody gets a chance. The girls also really seem to thrive on the healthy competition involved.
