Meir Ohayon’s Granola Bars 2 ways.
- 10 Tbsp margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- 3 tsp vanilla sugar
- 4 cups oats
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup marshmallows
- 1 cup chocolate lentils
- Melted Chocolate, or chocolate spread, for decorating
- Sandwich cookies, for decorating
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a microwave safe bowl, combine margarine, brown sugar, corn syrup and vanilla sugar. Microwave on high for 1 minute until margarine is fully melted. Mix to combine, then add the oats. Mix well. Divide mixture in half. Mix half with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Press into a greased loaf pan. Bake 15 minutes. Remove from the pan once cooled and drizzle with chocolate spread or melted chocolate. Slice into bars.
For the Granola Cake:
Mix the other half of the oats mixture with chocolate lentils and mix to combine. Press into a greased 9” round pan. Bake 15 minutes. Once cooled, place on your serving plate. Spread with chocolate spread and top with crushed cookies.
