Booklists: Rabbi Avrohom Weinrib
| October 21, 2020"If I can’t find the question there, I need to rethink if the question is really a question"
With the new journey through Chumash beginning and the long Friday nights arriving, is there a peirush on Chumash — perhaps even a lesser-known sefer — that you particularly recommend?
"Where does one turn when they have a seemingly basic, or not so basic, question in pshat on the pesukim or on Rashi? For me it’s always been Sha’arei Aharon, a commentary on the Chumash text, on Rashi’s commentary, and on Targum Onkelos, by Rav Aharon Yeshaya Roter. It’s pretty much that if I can’t find the question there, I need to rethink if the question is really a question. This extensive multivolume set (the edition I have contains 16 volumes but it’s been constantly expanding, now up to 19) is a must-have for any serious Chumash learner.”
