While NYC’s ordeal is over, Canada continues to burn

The thick, acrid haze that blanketed New York City last week, casting a Martian hue over the Manhattan skyline for days, had its origins in unprecedented wildfires far to the north, in Canada. While NYC’s ordeal is over, Canada continues to burn, spreading smog and its health hazards over America’s south, and as far afield as Europe.
