Mirror-Maze Championship Indoor/Outdoor This is simple to set up but will keep the kids enthralled. If you have a place where the maze can stay taped down for at least a week you may even find a parent or two surreptitiously trying it out…. Equipment: black or colored electrical tape hand mirror about the size of a child’s face stopwatch Note: In Eretz Yisrael mirrors can often be found at the One Shekel Store. Optional: whiteboard dry-erase marker Preparation: On a large porch patio or driveway use the tape to create a single-line path in an intricate maze-like pattern marking a start point and end point. To play: Each child takes his turn holding the mirror face down perpendicular to his forehead and walks the maze while looking in the mirror never looking down at all. If both feet come off the maze he goes back to start. Whoever finishes the maze in the shortest amount the time is the champion. For long-term competition hang a white board near the maze with the name and speed time of the current champion and runner up. When the record is beaten simply erase and write in the new champ. Variation: Junior Champs — for children under five leave out the mirror and instruct children to walk the maze toe-to-heel.To read the rest of this story please buy this issue of Mishpacha or sign up for a weekly subscription
