Cooking Up a Cookbook: Behind the Scenes of the Creation of The Best of Family Table

We get many requests for articles from back issues. When the request is for a recipe the tone is often frantic as our readers write with flour-dusted hands.
HiChanie
A reader called. She’s in the middle of making last week’s cake recipe and says that there seems to be too little liquid in the ingredients list. She says it’s in the mixer right now and looks more like crumbs than dough. She’s going to bag up the dough and put it in the fridge until tomorrow so if you know that there’s a problem with the recipe could you write to her at the e-mail address below? I told her the dough might straighten itself out if it sits in the fridge overnight — we’ll see what happens!
All the best

Dear Mishpacha
I lost the recipe for the filo baskets and apples I was about to make. (Yeah I’m one of those bochurim who love to cook.) Anyways could you please send another copy of the recipe ASAP? Thanks!
This is an SOS to PLEASE send me my family’s favorite recipe from last year’s Chanukah issue: an ice cream roll with two flavors of ice cream rolled in a crunch! I’ve made it several times with rave responses and now they’re asking for it again! I remember the blurb mentioned that the chef made it for a sheva brachos if that helps….
Hi! I made a wonderful recipe once and now can’t seem to find it. It may have even been up to three years old…. It was a chocolate peanut butter mousse photographed in a teacup with eight separated eggs and chocolate and peanut butter and maybe a few other items. Would it be possible to get a hold of it again? Thanks so much! It was wonderful!
