It had happened a few days ago and since then she’d been feeling tense and uncomfortable. Top the discomfort with a scoopful of anger and you have an X-ray view of Chavie’s heart.TovaSneider was one of Chavie’s closest friends. They studied together laughed together and understood each other. Tova’s parents worked long hours so Tova often came for supper and slept over. Chavie was the only girl in her large family so Tova was like the sister she never had. “Chavie ” Tova asked her one day while they were swinging together in Chavie’s backyard “we’re going out of town for the long vacation weekend. Would you mind feeding my bunny?” “I would love to!” Chavie’s blue eyes sparkled. She had always wanted a pet but her family wasn’t so into animals. “They smell they cost too much.…” her mother would explain shaking her head. “After the novelty wears off who do you think will wind up worrying aboutMr.Furry?” her father would ask one finger pointing toward himself and another toward her mother. So Chavie would sigh and give up. But here was her chance to have a pet of her very own at least for a few days.
