MJ interviews Mrs. Tziri Frank of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation:
MJ: What is the inspiration behind the inspiration? How did this hotline come to be?
Mrs. Frank: Mr. Michael Rothschild founder of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation started this hotline 17 years ago after being amazed at the powerful impact his words of chizuk had on a sick friend in the hospital. Mr. Rothschild decided this would be a wonderful way for CCHF to promote positive speech. Today more than 85 000 weekly callers benefit from this special hotline.
MJ: CCHF recently launched TIC TALK a new hotline for teens. What’s it all about?
Mrs. Frank: TIC is an acronym for “Timely Inspiration and Chizuk.” TIC TALK is a hotline that gives chizuk to the ordinary teenager living a typical life to keep on being the great kid he or she is. TIC TALK features question-and-answer sessions with noted rabbanim and mechanchos focusing on issues relevant to all teens. It also has a school spotlight teens’ personal stories a serial story shmiras halashon yomi — and more. It’s only been up and running for a few short weeks but the already more than 130 000 callers have been giving rave reviews.
