[The Moment / Issue 770]
I am not a regular reader of this magazine, but this Shabbos I came across the “Summer Reading List” in the section called The Moment. I was surprised to see the book by Rabbi Yom Tov Halevi Schwartz selected as the “book of choice” by one of the esteemed panel members. The author was one of the most outspoken critics of Rav Moshe Feinstein. While the author’s life story is stomach churning and he was certainly a yodeah sefer to say the least, the way he refers to Rav Moshe ztz”l throughout Me’aneh L’Igros would give me pause before turning to read his thoughts on a Torah way of life.

Mishpacha responds:
When our team sent out last week’s question regarding a book appropriate for every Jewish home, a very respected respondent mentioned a sefer written by a mechaber who was unfamiliar to us. It was only after this letter-writer got in touch with us that we learned about the mechaber’s treatise. We certainly would not have included that answer had we known, and we should have reviewed the material more carefully. The kavod of Rav Moshe, rabban shel Yisroel, should be reflected in every page and every line of this magazine
