Best Friends Forever: Package Panic
| July 25, 2012
The large brown box was heavy and cute. Leave it to Mrs. Spitz to laminate a picture of Camp Ruach onto the side of it. And those strawberry stickers smelled good enough to eat.
“Wow!” a group of the youngest campers exclaimed as they watched her struggling to schlep the box.
“Is all that for you?” a new camper with curly red hair asked as she gazed at the package with awe.
“Don’t like doing your laundry at camp? Your mom washes it and sends it back?” a girl in the waitressing program joked.
Devorah blushed and walked faster. She burst into her bunkhouse and nearly tossed the package on her well-made you-could-bounce-a-quarter-on-it bed. Chavi was still there using some colored pencils to sketch the caves they had gone spelunking in.
“Oh wow!” said Chavi. “What on earth’s inside?”
“We’ll find out” said Devorah as she reached into her toiletry kit and used the point of her nail file to cut through the packing tape.
