Bumping into Myself

Chairs screeched and girls grabbed their books stuffing them in their bags. Malki did the same and wished she could run home like her sisters ahead of her but she could only hobble along. Boy were these black strappy shoes a mistake. They’d probably have been fine if they were really her size but the store’s last pair was half a size too small for her. Her mother had warned her not to buy them but… c’mon what’s half a size in the grand scheme of things? Besides everyone was wearing them these days. And they looked so cool.
