Every instrument adds an additional layer of richness to a recording or production. What’s your favorite instrumental sound?

There’s an ancient, simple wind instrument called the “pan flute” that has a very natural and pure sound. It was originally used by shepherds and is pretty unusual today, although I believe it’s used in Indian forest music. When I hear that sound, it just grabs me.
