While inflation slowing down, prices are still far above pre-2020 levels

That’s how much the consumer price index (CPI) has grown compared to last year. While that’s very high, this is also the sixth consecutive month in which the rate has gone down. The record was June 2022, when inflation reached 9.1%. Since then, price increases have begun to slack off. The picture isn’t all rosy: food prices are still up 10% compared to last year, and the recent spike in the price of eggs showed that while inflation slowing down, prices are still far above pre-2020 levels.
