Before Reb Dovid of Lelov became a famous Rebbe, he used to travel to his own Rebbe, Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk. As he was very poor, he couldn’t afford the travel expenses and used to tackle the journey on foot. On one occasion, as he was walking along, a horsedrawn carriage, bearing a Jewish passenger, pulled up alongside him.
