Jolly Solly: Shimmy Comes to Sunny Lane

Moishy jumped up and down in excitement. He couldn’t wait! His cousin Shimmy from Yerushalayim was coming to stay for a week. Moishy and Shimmy had become very good friends when the Morrises had gone to Eretz Yisrael for Bracha’s wedding. Although Shimmy, with his freckled face and kappel always slipping down one side, was older than Moishy, they had gotten on famously. And now he was actually coming to stay!

A jet of water shot high up into the air like a fountain.
And like a fountain, after it went up, it came down again — into the garden of the next-door neighbor on the other side.
Moishy looked through a gap in the fence. Oh no! There was someone there relaxing in a deckchair and reading a book. He was a teenage boy with longish hair and no kippah.
Whoosh! The jet of water hit him on the head.
